今日セージが外で遊んでいた時に撮った写真です。メイにはちょっと寒すぎたので、家の中からセージを見ていました。セージが少しの間メイのところへ来てくれました。

I took this picture today while Sage was playing outside. It was a bit
too cold for Mae, so she and I watched him from the window. He visited
her for a few minutes.

M君がまた別の絵を送ってくれました。今回は電車！私のセージは電車が大好き。M君、セージと一緒に遊べたらいいのに。

Student M. sent me another picture, a train! Sage loves trains. These
two boys should meet!

びっくり！

私の英会話の生徒のM君が英語で絵を書いて、それを彼のお母がEメールで送ってくれました。すごいでしょ？生徒のM君はとっても元気で可愛い男の子です。

I got a surprise! One of my Skype students made a picture with English words. His mother emailed me a photo of his picture. Isn't it great? Student M. is a very lively and sweet boy.

自己紹介

昨日の「中断」のせいで書き終われなかった自己紹介の続き。

私は生まれてからずっとアーカンソーに住んでいます。でもいつか他の州や国に住めたらいいなあと思ってます。４人兄弟がいて、姉妹はみなアーカンソー、兄たちはノースキャロライナ、アイダホに住んでいます。日本へは２回夫と行きましたが、また行ける日が待ちどうしいです。日本の人々、食べ物、そしてジャスコ！

ところで昨夜はよく眠ることができました。

Due to the "interruption" last night, my introduction was not quite finished in the first entry. Allow me to tell you more now. I have always lived in Arkansas, but I would love to live in another state or country someday. I have four brothers and sisters: David, Danny, Donna, and Dawn. My sisters still live in Arkansas and my brothers are in North Carolina and Idaho.

My parents live close to my sisters, about three hours from us. My husband's family lives in Hamamatsu, Japan, which I have visited twice and cannot wait to visit again. I miss Japan often: the people, the food, and especially Jusco. Everyone laughs whenI say that, but I really do love that store!

By the way, we all slept well last night!!

ようこそ！

皆さん始めまして、ディニースです。

アメリカで日本人の旦那と生活しています。４歳になる男の子（セージ）と、８ヶ月になる女の子（メイ）の子育てをしています。母親というのは毎日が試練と喜びの連続ですが、今夜もセージがこうして私がブログを書いている寝室へ忍び込んできて私たちと一緒に寝たがっています。

３０分前に、セージが暗がりが怖いと言って叫んでいたので、ナイトライトを付けて彼が寝ている部屋の近くにあるキッチンの電気も付けたのですが、効果ありませんでした。私については、また明日書こうと思います。

本当は彼のベッドルームへ戻すべきなのですが、私も彼と一緒に寝るのが好きです。子供が育つのは早すぎて、こうして彼と添い寝が出来るのももうわずかですし。（でも家族全員でベットで寝るのはとっても窮屈です！）

Hello! My name is Denise. I live in the United States with my Japanese husband. I am a mother of a 4-year-old boy (Sage) and an 8-month-old girl (Mae). Everyday, being a mother is a challenge and joy.

While I have been typing, Sage has come into our room wishing to sleep with us. He claims the darkness scares him. He screamed about it 30 minutes ago. My husband plugged in a night light and I turned on the light in the kitchen (a room close to where he sleeps), but neither of our attempts to calm him has worked. I will write more about myself tomorrow.

I guess I should put Sage back in his own bed, but to tell you the truth, I like when he comes to sleep with us. Children grow up too fast, and I won't get to snuggle with him much longer. (But with Mae and my husband in the bed, we'll be very crowded. Wish us luck!)
